A FRESH IDEA

A Fresh Opportunity™

First Watch is a proven concept with more than 24 years of successful operations utilizing standards and techniques that have been refined over the years as we have grown and expanded. Uniquely positioned in the Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch category, First Watch provides an appealing business opportunity.

Thanks to the loyalty of our customers, and the various accolades they continue to bestow upon us, we have been fortunate to have grown through a strategy of opening company-owned restaurants in great neighborhoods. Our future growth will be based upon the opening of successful franchise restaurants as part of larger area development agreements.

TRAINING

Practice Makes Perfect

You will have our support from day one. First, we provide in-depth training for your General Manager and one other person for your first restaurant. We conduct our 10-week training courses at one of our certified First Watch training restaurants. Then, as the time for your restaurants to open nears, and you’ve secured your staff, we will help train them. In fact, we will provide on-site pre-opening and opening training supervision and assistance to ensure that you are ready.

Subsequently, we may allow franchisees to conduct their own management training on site in their restaurant, provided we’ve designated it as a certified training restaurant. For subsequent restaurants, you may use your own trainers to train hourly employees provided they have been certified by First Watch.

STANDARDS

We believe that one of the reasons we’ve been so successful is that we’ve been able to maintain our standards from one restaurant to the next, ensuring a consistent First Watch experience from market to market. Therefore, it’s critical that every franchisee understand and comply with a few critical criteria. For one, you must at all times comply with First Watch standards and specifications for operating hours, menu items, plate presentations, recipes, ingredients, service, cleanliness, suppliers, POS systems, computers and marketing programs. We take this stuff seriously. So much so that we consider failure to comply with any of such standards and specifications as a default under the franchise agreement. Also, every franchisee is required to report sales on a weekly basis and submit financial statements periodically (4-4-5 weeks). Each accounting period, you are required to pay First Watch a royalty of 4% of gross sales and a System Fund fee of up to 3% of gross sales. Additionally, you agree to spend a minimum of 1% of gross sales on local marketing.
