Hot Tips for a Cool Summer

The weather's getting warmer, the days are getting longer and summer is just around the corner. But before you break out your swimsuit and flip-flops, First Watch is passing along a few tips to help you keep healthy, hydrated and cool during the hot summer months ahead.

Eat plenty of fruit.
It's refreshing, juicy, low in carbs, and high in vitamins A and C. Grab some watermelon, raspberries, cantaloupe, honeydew, blackberries or strawberries for a satisfying and sweet summer treat.

Eat your veggies.
Packed with fiber, minerals, folate and vitamin A, summer veggies will keep you energized. Try serving sliced raw peppers, cucumbers, radishes and squash with hummus or salsa for a cool and refreshing summer snack. For more than a full serving of veggies, try our tasty Veg'd Out Omelette™, Not Guilty Your Honor®, or The Health Nut™ salad.

Get creative.
Mix a handful of fruit in your salad or yogurt, blend in an ice-cold smoothie or even make some fun fruit kabobs. Or try mixing grated veggies into homemade slaw, salads, pilafs and bread.
