Happy 2019! As we start the new year, I love taking a step back to review and appreciate all that was accomplished in 2018 before looking at the exciting things that lie ahead. At First Watch, 2018 was awesome. In the culinary world, we launched our new Project Sunrise coffee program, benefiting an incredible group of women in Huila, Colombia. We also introduced our first cookbook, Yeah, It’s Fresh, with some of our favorite and most popular recipes from the past 35 years, modified for the home chef. Then we introduced five different seasonal menus throughout the year on top of it all. It’s been fun, it’s been busy, we definitely learned a lot, and we’re so excited to make 2019 even better!

We’re starting the year with a killer new seasonal menu, featuring three tasty entrees and a seasonal juice. Oh, and yes, Million Dollar Bacon is back!

I’d have to say that the Mediterranean “Baked” Eggs dish is my favorite from this menu. It’s unlike any seasonal dish we’ve introduced before, and the unique flavors it brings together are totally unmatched. You can learn more about it here!

Mediterranean “Baked” Eggs
Two cage-free eggs any style, in a savory Shakshuka-style sauce of tomatoes, onions and red bell pepper with all-natural chicken, Feta and fresh herbs. Served with a side of lemon dressed organic mixed greens and grilled herb ciabatta.

In addition to the Mediterranean “Baked” Eggs, the following new dishes will be available at your local First Watch (excluding the Tampa Bay Area) through late March:

Million Dollar Bacon
Four slices of our signature hardwood smoked bacon baked with brown sugar, black pepper, cayenne and a maple syrup drizzle.

Acai Bowl
Organic Sambazon Acai topped with fresh strawberries, bananas, kiwi, blueberries and our housemade granola. Served with whole grain artisan toast topped with almond butter and Maldon sea salt.

SoCal Breakfast Burrito
Egg Whites, all-natural grilled chicken breast, quinoa, black beans, kale, house-roasted onions, Feta, Cheddar, Monterey Jack, fresh smashed avocado and pico de gallo in a hearty-grain tortilla. Served with a side of warm salsa verde and fresh fruit.
