FIRST WATCH TO OPEN NEAR ASU

The Daytime Cafe is celebrating its opening with a fundraiser for Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

TEMPE, Arizona – October 18, 2016 – First Watch, the Phoenix favorite breakfast, brunch and lunch eatery, announced today that it will open the doors to its newest Phoenix-area restaurant on Monday, October 24. The new cafe will open at 7 a.m. at 111 West University Drive next to Blaze Pizza. The 3,700-square-foot restaurant will be the 33-year-old company’s 18th First Watch in the Phoenix area and will employ about 25 people.

First Watch will donate all money raised from a private pre-opening event to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, which serves the medical needs of infants, children and adolescents with family-centered hope, healing and healthcare.

“We’ve recently brought First Watch to quite a few university towns with amazing success, and we couldn’t be more excited to show the ASU community what First Watch’s innovative breakfast, brunch and lunch is all about,” said Chris Tomasso, president of First Watch. “The idea of supporting such a fantastic pediatric medical facility like Phoenix Children’s Hospital really resonated with our team at the new restaurant, and we’re honored to have the opportunity to be a part of Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation’s commitment to building healthy families in the Tempe community.”

First Watch’s curated menu takes an elevated approach to traditional and inventive offerings made to order using farm fresh ingredients. It includes items such as Avocado Toast, Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. The new restaurant on West University Drive will offer healthy, flavorful favorites like house-made granola and pico de gallo, organic greens, house-roasted vegetables, cage-free eggs and 100% fresh-squeezed orange juice as well as more indulgent, traditional breakfast, brunch and lunch offerings.

The new First Watch in Tempe will also offer options from the restaurant’s Fresh Juice Bar – including the best-selling Kale Tonic – juiced in-house daily using fresh fruits and vegetables sourced locally whenever possible. The restaurant will serve its exclusive Sunrise Select Premium Blend Coffee, made from slow-roasted, hand-selected, high-grown coffee beans from mountains across North, Central and South America, by the pot.

The new First Watch will open with the restaurant’s latest “Urban Farm” interior design, which combines farm fresh elements with a high-energy, urban vibe.

First Watch serves its entire menu seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The restaurant also offers customers complimentary newspapers and free Wi-Fi Internet access.
