LAWRENCE, KS. – April 4, 2012 – On Monday, April 2, the First Watch restaurant in Lawrence, Kansas honored the memory of former franchisee Todd Babington (1958 – 2011) by donating 100 percent of the day’s profits to the local chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The restaurant, located at 2540 Iowa Street, Lawrence, Kansas, was able to provide $310.83 to the Foundation.
“We are proud to support the local Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in their efforts, and are pleased that the proceeds from our donations will also give us a chance to honor our friend, Todd Babington,” said Chris Tomasso, chief marketing officer.
The giveback day honored former Lawrence, Kansas First Watch franchisee Todd Babington who battled Type 1 Diabetes. Babington became one of the company’s original franchisees when he opened the Lawrence restaurant in 1997.
A recipient of more than 200 “Best Breakfast” and “Best Brunch” accolades, First Watch offers fresh, made-to-order traditional favorites including pancakes, French toast, omelets and eggs benedict, as well as signature specialties such as Skillet Hashes, Chickichanga®, Healthy Turkey Omelet™ and Fresh Fruit Crepes.
