(Tulsa, OK)—First Watch, the Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch company based in Bradenton, Fla., will expand its presence in Oklahoma when a new restaurant opens in Tulsa on Monday, April 11th. The restaurant will be located at 8104 East 68th St. at the intersection of East 68th Street and South Memorial Drive. It joins one existing First Watch restaurant in Tulsa on South Lewis Avenue. There is also a restaurant in Oklahoma City.

The Tulsa First Watch restaurants are owned by Ron Hendrix. He plans to open a third location in the Broken Arrow area. Hendrix joined the First Watch restaurant company in 1986 and he helped develop the Kansas City and Missouri markets before becoming a franchisee.

“Many Tulsa residents had eaten at First Watch restaurants in Kansas City and they were very excited when our first restaurant opened in Tulsa,” Hendrix said. “We really couldn’t have opened this second restaurant without the support of the patrons who have been so loyal to the existing restaurant. I think they’ll be equally happy with our newest location, and we’re happy to continue to provide them with excellent service and quality food.”

General manager Randy Robbins oversees the current First Watch restaurant in Tulsa, and he will also oversee the new location. Hendrix will hire about 25 local employees for the new restaurant.

“We’re happy to have Ron and his team as a part of the First Watch family,” said Chris Tomasso, chief marketing officer for First Watch. “Their first Tulsa restaurant has been very successful and we’re confident that the Tulsa market will continue to be a great spot for First Watch.”

First Watch, which has received more than 80 “Best Breakfast” awards in markets across the country, features traditional favorites like pancakes, omelets, salads and sandwiches as well as signature items such as the Chickichanga and Fresh Fruit Crepes. All of their menu items are freshly prepared to order. First Watch delivers an excellent dining experience known for fast, friendly service. Each restaurant offers guests complimentary newspapers and free Wi-Fi Internet access.

First Watch is the largest and fastest-growing, privately owned, daytime-only restaurant chain in the United States. Of its existing 85 restaurants in 11 states, four are franchised and four are licensed and future growth is expected to come from key multi-unit, regional franchises to experienced restaurateurs in new markets in 35 states throughout the continental U.S. First Watch recently announced new market franchise agreements for Oklahoma City, Milwaukee, north central Florida and Iowa. First Watch expects to grow to 115 restaurants by the end of 2012, with a dozen franchised locations open and more than 30 in various stages of development.
