I couldn’t be more excited to share this one with you all! Click the image below for the video on our partnership with Mike’s Hot Honey.
For a while now, we’ve been brainstorming ways to bring Mike’s Hot Honey to First Watch. It’s actually been a personal mission, since I’ve been a fan of Mike’s brand for years. I wanted all our customers to have a chance to see what this whole hot honey thing is all about, and that time has finally come!
This holiday season, we’re serving up our Million Dollar Breakfast Sandwich at your neighborhood First Watch, and it might just be one my favorite First Watch seasonal menu items ever. We took our fan-favorite Million Dollar Bacon, layered it with Jones Dairy Farm all-natural pork sausage, one of our tasty cage-free eggs (over-easy, of course!), smoked Wisconsin Gouda from the cheese experts at Emmi Roth, fresh peppery arugula and to top it all off with some sweet heat, a smooth Mike’s Hot Honey drizzle. We didn’t just put it on any regular bun either – this one is served on a griddled English muffin.
Earlier this year, we had the chance to visit Mike – the Mike – at the Mike’s Hot Honey headquarters in Brooklyn. We learned all about how he started experimenting in the kitchen of his apartment years ago, infusing honey with different peppers. He would serve samples of his creations to some regular customers at the pizza shop where he worked, and the rest, as they say, is history.
While this incredible glaze was originally created to drizzle on some fresh New York pizza, it’s cool to see it being used in so many other applications today! I’ve tried Mike’s Hot Honey in craft cocktails, charcuterie boards, bruschetta and other later-in-the-day dishes, and it’s been a blast to bring Mike’s Hot Honey to our breakfast table.
Do yourself a favor and stop in to your local First Watch before the end of the year to sink your teeth into this explosion of flavor. Hope to see you there!
